Please register for the meeting by 11 May 2018 and indicate which days you will be present. Ciena and FiberHome are co-hosting this meeting.
The meeting will be held in the Algonquin Salon A&B room. This can be divided if needed. Internet access is provided.
Coffee, tea and refreshments will be available for breaks. A light breakfast and a lunch buffet will be provided daily . Please advise Stephen Shew of any dietary restrictions.
A block of rooms has been arranged at the Holiday Inn & Suites at two rates:
Queen Suites at CAN$160/night ($185.60 with tax) and
Double Queens at CAN$146/night ($169.36 with tax).

These rooms are being held until 12 May 2018 , after which reservations or the rate, cannot be guaranteed. It is in the west part of Ottawa known as Kanata (formerly a city but now part of Ottawa) in an area known as Centrum. There are plenty of restaurants for evening dining within walking distance of this hotel. Parking is free as is high speed internet access.

Adjacent to the Holiday Inn is a shopping area called Kanata Centrum. It is at 300 Earl Grey Drive and there are a number of stores and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. A list of stores and restaurants can be found here:
Ottawa has an International airport - YOW ( http://www.ottawa-airport.ca/ ) with direct flights to Europe, USA and many cities in Canada.
Some international airlines offer connection to Ottawa by bus if you land in Montreal (YUL).
The Ottawa airport is about 45 minutes from the hotel by car.

7.1 Currency & Exchange
Currency is the Canadian dollar. There are currency exchange counters at the Airport.
7.2 Automated Teller Machines (ATM) for Foreign Travellers
Travellers who carry internationally recognized ATM/Credit cards can get a cash advance in Canadian dollars at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) installed at airports, major hotels, department stores, banks and tourist attractions.

7.4 Business Hours
Shopping hours vary per shopping centre and location. Most centres are open from 9 AM to 9 PM M-F. Saturday shopping hours are usually 9 AM to 5 PM. Sunday shopping hours are usually 11 AM to 5 PM. Banking Hours depends on the bank and are generally 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday. Some banks do open on Saturday. Government hours are M-F from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Canada uses the same electric outlets like the U.S, basically 120 V, 60 Hz. See picture below for outlet types.
Tipping is expected at restaurants typically at 15-20% of the amount of the bill.
Tax is added on good and services including food. The “harmonized sales tax” (HST) rate (including Federal and Provincial) is 13% in Ontario.
7.8 Medical Emergencies
In case of a Medical Emergency your best bet is to go the Nearest Hospital to the Emergency room. The closest hospital to the hotel is the Queensway Carleton Hospital www.qch.on.ca (about 10km by car).
7.7 Mobile coverage
Mobile phones or tablets that can roam on the North American bands in either GSM/HSPA (800/1900MHz), CDMA (800/1900MHz) or LTE (1700/2600MHz) will be able to roam in Ottawa.
