- Discussion
- Suggestion for the layer example document
- Should start with a simple device, showing the interface and ports
- Progress from basic single device circuit/packet switched examples through to complex protection scenarios and multi-layer circuit/packet switched examples.
- Introduction paragraph after the General Packet Example heading should says This document introduce the layer protocol for packet system, initially in the context of a basic Ethernet device, (as shown in the figure below as example,) then the figure showing some ports,
- Then the layer examples
- Suggested section structure of TR-512.A.6 Packet Switched (L2 & L3) examples
- 2 Introduction on this Appendix document
- 3 General Packet examples
- 3.0 (i.e., paragraph before 3.1):
- This document introduce the layer protocol for packet system, initially in the context of a basic Ethernet device showing the ports and then of more sophistic Ethernet device.
- This document is not intent to be exhaustive for showing all possible examples.
- It just shows some port configuration to enable the designer to understand how the mechanism work
- 3.1 Basic Ethernet device
- Figure of basic Ethernet device (shown in the figure below as example) showing some ports
- 3.2 Sophistical Ethernet device
- Figure of more sophistical Ethernet device showing more ports.
- 4 Ethernet layer examples
- 4.0 (i.e., introductory paragraph) Showing the layer example in the context of the port configuration shown in section 3 above
- 4.1 Ethernet single-layer example
- 4.2 Ethernet multi-layer example
- 4.3 Etherent & MPLS-TP multi- layer example
- 4.4 Circuit & Ethernet multi-layer example
- Similar section structure for TR-512.A.5 Circutit Switched (L1 & L2) Examples
